WWWow... look I'm blogging again. How amazing is this, I mean seriously? Two days in a row, I've never put this much determination into anything. So I guess today is going to be a book review day. Last week I finished two books so I'll review them both for my one avid reader.
The First is a book called: Into the Woods, by Tana French.
It was a very entertaining book that for the most part I liked very much. It definitely will never be a literary classic, but it is still fun to read. The story is very luring, it was very difficult to put down (well in my case stop listening to it). I was very anxious to know the ending. Didn't quite turn out how I would have liked. But overall it was good.
ON A SIDE NOTE: As we go on with book reviews you will learn that I don't like open endings. I really would like to know what happens. Because if you leave a ending open I just imagine that everyone dies. Like the Earth falls out of orbit and collides with the sun. All living things are burned instantly and all that's left is fire proof mattresses. Or the alternative to us all burning alive is a giant squid rises from the sea and engulfs all the continents for lunch. Leaving no survivors. Yep, I know, I am very creative.
But anyway, back to the review. The novel is a mystery/murder and I had figured out 'the who done it' about half way through. Still it was easy to enjoy the steps to the detectives figuring it out. Over all a good book. If you like to read I would recommend it. Although the story does have some gruesome tellings of a child being murdered and the autopsy performed. It is very descriptive so be warned.
The second book: The Road by Cormac McCarthy
First I have to say majority of the books I read/listen to are audiobooks. I almost feel like I'm cheating by saying I have read them; when really I have only listened to them. For me it's the same. But the guy who reads this story has one of the most annoying tones to his voice. That being said, I have tried on three occasions to listen to this book. A few chapters in I had to stop before I went crazy with annoyance. Alas, my brother and Brian told me over and over again that it was such a good book, that they really liked it so I should finish it. So enduring ol' me set out and started and finally finished the book. I'll have to say I wasn't that impressed. Not saying that the novel is bad. I guess it's just not really my style. Every time the book said "the ash", or "it was cold", "okay", "I'm scared", and "I know." A little thought in my head wanted to tally out how many times those phrases were used. I know, I know... I shouldn't let little things like that ruin a book for me but I can't help it. I swear, probably about half the book are those 10 words randomly placed with other words around them. However, I really like how McCarthy choose not to give the characters names. The entire book it is just the boy and the man. It added variety to not have named characters. Once again, I didn't really like the ending, way to open for me. They are on a road to nowhere and they are nowhere the whole time. Didn't really see the point. Maybe I just don't understand what the author was trying to portray.

Clearly....
I'm not very good at this blogging thing. Well actually I totally forgot that I had even started one. Way to go Megan! So anyway I just decided two seconds ago that I am going to do a Movie Review section. Seeing as I do spend a ridiculous amount of money on them, might as well share what I thought of it with whoever decides to read this. So lets start with the most recent movie watched... TWILIGHT. I absolutely HATED it! The acting was so horrible, the story was so far from what really happened in the book. I seriously could not to stop laughing the entire movie. Not really any of the actors/actresses fit the roles of the characters. I mean not saying the Robert Pattinson is terrible looking; but he is not to die for. As a matter a fact, he isn't even tempting! Hayden Christensen would have been a much better Edward. Not just in looks, but probably a better actor! Besides the terrible acting, if someone hasn't read the book I believe the movie would be very difficult to follow. Just over all it sucks. If you like it, you obviously have horrid taste in movies!
I mean seriously I would rather sit through a 6 hour, low budget movie that is true to the book. Then watch a chopped up and inaccurate version of a book that was somewhat enjoyable.
I also just decided I might do a book review section. I like to read (well listen to books on my ipod). So I'll try and post more I guess.
